Thi year's Prestigious PFA is being held on Saturday September second at the usual venue of Ferry Meadows.
This could well be my last PFA, so I hope to go out with ... well ... perhaps not with a 'bang', but certainly with a Fizz! :cheer:

PFA 2023

My health is such that I won't be competing in either True-Scale Jet or Profile Jet Scale. For my sins I will instead be judging.:woohoo:

Though there is a nominal score for likeness of the model to the real aeroplane, workmanship etc, the main scores are for launch, climb out, cruise and landing. It is, as they say, a level playing (flying) field. :P
So a competitor's skill in tchoosing a suitable motor, knowing where, when and how to launch are paramount. It is a real test of rocketeering knowledge and skill. To repeat: It is the trimming, launching, choosing the moment etc that is important in this competition.

This being so, any of the profile jets sold by the Vintage Model company will be competitive. Also, I am happy to provide motors, and even (at a pinch) a profile model like a T-38, Alpha Jet, Gripen etc on the day.
The more smoke trails we create the happier I shall be!
So please, if you have the necessary jetophile inclinations and skill come and join in the fun! B)

Daniel Rackstraw with an L-2 powered F-8 Cougar at last year's PFA. Great stuff!!
